BMW Service & Repair in Boerne

From an E36 to the latest M car, BMW is where this shop started and where it lives. Scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and performance for BMW, done by someone who actually knows the platform.

BMW service by someone who knows the platform

This shop started with a 1997 Boston Green E36 M3, so BMW is not one of many badges on the door. It is the car that started the whole thing. Twenty years later, BMW is still the platform I know best, from the classics to the latest M cars.

BMWs reward proper care and punish neglect, and the dealer is not your only option for keeping one right. Factory-level tools, the correct parts and fluids, and one tech who knows where each chassis hides its problems will keep your BMW sharp without the dealer markup or the rotating cast of service writers.

The BMW maintenance schedule, in plain English

Modern BMWs run on Condition Based Servicing, so the car tells you what it needs based on how you actually drive instead of a fixed mileage chart. That is smart, but it still means a real schedule of fluids and wear items, and skipping them is how a good BMW turns into an expensive one.

  • /Oil and filter service on the BMW interval, with the correct full-synthetic oil to spec
  • /Brake fluid every two years, because it absorbs moisture and it matters more on a car that stops as hard as a BMW
  • /Spark plugs and ignition coils at their interval, especially on the turbocharged engines
  • /Cabin micro-filter, engine air filter, and fuel filter where applicable
  • /Coolant service and a full cooling-system check, because this is where BMWs are weakest
  • /Differential, transfer case, and transmission fluid on the longer intervals the dealer often skips

The BMW jobs I see most

Every BMW generation has its known issues. Knowing them ahead of time is half the battle, and catching them early is the other half:

  • /Cooling system: water pumps, thermostats, expansion tanks, and hoses. On most BMW sixes it is a when, not an if, and catching it early saves the engine
  • /Oil leaks: valve-cover gaskets and oil-filter-housing gaskets are the usual suspects, and they are straightforward when caught before they make a mess
  • /VANOS and valvetrain service on the engines that need it
  • /Carbon buildup on the direct-injection N and B-series engines, cleaned by walnut blasting to restore lost power and a smooth idle
  • /Suspension refresh: control arms, bushings, and monoball upgrades for the cars that get driven hard
  • /Check-engine lights and electrical gremlins, diagnosed with factory-level tools instead of a parts cannon

M cars and performance

An M car is not just a faster BMW, it is a different animal to maintain, and it deserves a tech who treats it that way. From fluid services done right to track prep, brakes, and cooling, your M2, M3, or M4 gets the attention it was built for.

If you want more, that is the other half of this shop. Tuning, suspension, and full builds, dialed in and built to your spec. The same hands that build a track car change your brake fluid.

Independent shop, dealer-level work

You do not have to use the dealer to keep your BMW right, and you do not have to void your warranty to save money. An independent shop can perform your factory-scheduled service to spec, with the correct parts and fluids, and keep the records that protect your warranty. What you lose is the markup and the runaround. What you keep is a relationship with the person actually turning the wrenches.

The BMWs I work on

3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, X3, X5, M2, M3, M4, and the classics like the E36 and E46.

BMW questions

Do you work on older BMWs like the E36 and E46?
Gladly. This shop started with a 1997 E36 M3, so the classics are home turf. New M cars and the older chassis both get the same attention.
Can you handle BMW maintenance without voiding my warranty?
Yes. An independent shop can perform your factory-scheduled BMW service to spec without affecting the manufacturer warranty, as long as it is done right with the correct parts and fluids. I keep the records so your service history stays clean.
How often does a BMW need an oil change?
Modern BMWs use Condition Based Servicing and signal when they are due, but a sensible real-world interval with the correct full-synthetic oil keeps the engine healthiest. Tell me your model and how you drive and I will give you a straight answer.
Why are BMW cooling systems such a common repair?
The plastic parts in a BMW cooling system get brittle with heat cycles over the years. It is the single most common big job I see, and catching the water pump, thermostat, or expansion tank early is the difference between a routine repair and an overheated engine.
Do you do BMW performance work and tuning?
Yes. From a tune to suspension to a full build, performance is half of what this shop does. Your M car or your daily can both wake up here.
